Apartment fire in student housing at Råslätt

Fire rescue services recieved the alarm at 02.02 - the fire was extinguished at 03:30 and post-emergency work has been started by the fire services.

Student Health Care is open until 16:00 today and is reached during the day and tonight on phone 036-10 13 38. On Saturday and Sunday, the Student Health Care is reached on 070-944 71 95.

The identity of the student who was seriously injured in the fire has now been confirmed, and the family has been informed.

The International Relations Office has extended its opening hours and is open Thursday between 08.00-16.30 and Friday between 08.00-16.00 for all international students.

At Student Health, student counsellor Veronica Lavrova Gustafsson is in place. If necessary, visit her or call her on tel. 036-10 13 38.

The University Chaplaincy is open between 10.00-15.30 during Thursday and is available by phone during the evening.

Service Center is also available to answer questions on tel. 036-10 19 71.

Ten students and one security guard have been taken to the Ryhov hospital for examination, six of whom have suffered light injuries, three others have moderate injuries, and one student is severely injured.

Jönköping University has staff on-site at Råslätt right now and the evacuated students have received temporary accommodation.

The work with arranging new housing for the affected students is ongoing in collaboration with Vätterhem.

At 12:00, an information meeting for all students who are affected will be held at Sockertoppen at Råslätt.
