Graduation day 2016

On Friday, June 3rd 2022 the graduation ceremony will be held for all students who is to complete their degree at the School of Engineering.


09:00 Photography on the Campus area between JTH and the library.

10:00 The thesis fair, Xjobbsmässan, opens in Campus Arena.

12:15 Program-oriented activities, more information can be obtained from programme managers.

14:00 Graduation ceremony on the Campus area between JTH and the library. The ceremony lasts about 1 hour.

Degree certificate

Once your courses are all registered in Ladok you can apply for you degree certificate.

Further Information

The Graduation day is open to all students completing an education at the School of Engineering, regardless of credits completed. Scholarship students will be notified in advance.

Clothing is optional, but recommended outfit is a suit, jacket or dress.

Information about the annual Graduation Ceremony

The ceremony includes speeches by the Dean, the Student Union President and this year's alumni. Pre-selected students will be awarded scholarships. Norrahammar Big Band provides musical entertainment. The ceremony is for all students regardless of any failed courses.

Programme 2014

The Graduation Ceremony 2014 will take place on Wednesday, 28 May, between 1 p.m.-2.30 p.m. in Pingstkyrkan at the West Square (the ceremony does not contain any religious features).

  • 11 a.m. Photo shoot between the E- and the A-building
  • 11.30 a.m. Mingle in the entrance hall of JTH
  • 12.15 p.m. Joint march
  • 1 p.m. The ceremony will begin

Dress code

Optional, but usually the majority of participants wear costume/jacket/dress etc. Photos from previous Graduation Ceremonies can be found outside E1022 and E1028.


Relatives are very welcome, please be on time. The ceremony starts at 1 p.m. (Paid parking on West Square). Translation is available for a limited number of relatives. Please contact Mikael Palmgren well in advance.


Students who will be awarded scholarships are informed in advance.


Kindbom Photo Studio takes group photos of all graduating students and master students. If you want to buy a photo, please leave an envelope with contact information, what photos you want and correct amount of money to the photographer. Each photo costs 100 kr + 50 kr in shipping.

Graduation Day Q&A

Ofcourse! All students who are registered on their last semester can participate on the graduation day.

Yes, family and friends are very welcome to visit both the thesis fair, Xjobbsmässan, and the Graduation ceremony. The Graduation ceremony is held outside so there is no maximum number of people you can invite.

The scarfs and diplomas are handed out to you by your Programme Manager during the programme activities. At the start of the Graduation ceremony the classes will be called to the stage area one by one. So, your name will not be called on stage but there is an opportunity for your family and friends to see you as your class join the ceremony.

No, the scarf is gifted to you by JTH.

There is no official dress code for the graduation day, but most students choose a smart casual look.

The diploma handed out on the graduation day holds only a symbolic value, it is not your official degree certificate. Even if you have not passed all courses by the graduation day you will still get the diploma. But once you have passed all courses you need to apply for your degree certificate.
