Research

Mart Ots' primary interests are in the decision-making and organization of marketing communications, in media brands and marketing of media firms, and in Swedish and international media policy. 

He is program director for JIBS master programs in Digital Business and International Marketing.

Biography

Mart earned his doctoral degree in business administration in 2010, and until 2013 he held the position of assistant professor at the department of Media and Communication Science at Jönköping University.

Between 2013 and 2017 he was the director of the Media Management and Transformation Centre, a thematic research arena within JIBS focusing on the digitization and renewal processes in established industries.

Mart has been a visiting fellow at Fordham University 2007, at Michigan State University 2008, at Northwestern University 2009, and at Melbourne University in 2011. Prior to joining Jönköping University, he pursued a career as a manager in media publishing and marketing communications.

Mart regularly serves as an advisor to government institutions, industry organizations, corporations, and academic institutions on issues concerning media, policy and marketing communications.
