Research

Anders research is focused on strategy and how formalized "strategy work" is organized. Beginning with his thesis he continued with further research on the role of industrial wisdom in strategy processes mainly within the pulp and paper industry. But over the last ten years the linked interest in how formal strategy work in organisations evolve has dominated his research. In the last five years he has specifically studied how an inclusive and transparent way of working with strategy (Hoshin Kanri) can be introduced in organizations.   

Biography

Anders Melander is associate professor of business administration at Jönköping International Business School (JIBS). He defended his thesis, Industrial Wisdom and Strategic Change in the Swedish Pulp and Paper industry 1945-1990 in 1997. In the period 2000-2006 Anders managed a national business development program targeting small and medium sized companies . In 2007 he was managing business development at JIBS. from 2008 he has managed several research and development projects adressing development challenges in small and medium sized companies.
