Biography

I was born in 1983 in Tehran, Iran. I am currently an Associate Professor (Docent) within Operations and Supply Chain Management (OSCM) at Jönköping University. I joined the School of Engineering (JTH) in 2015, and prior to that I was affiliated with the Center for Logistics and Supply Chain Management (CeLS), and the Media Management and Transformation Center (MMTC) at Jönköping International Business School (JIBS). 

Education

  • 2014: Ph.D. in Business Administration – JIBS
  • Thesis: Postponement and Logistics Flexibility in Retailing
  • Thesis: Innovation Management: Technology Strategies for Sustainable Vehicle Development
  • 2005: B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering (Systems Analysis and Planning) – K.N. Toosi University of Technology in Tehran.
  • Thesis: Measuring and Predicting Customer Lifetime Value in Customer Loyalty Analysis: A case study on an e-Tailer. 

Research

My research interests span over several topics within the broader OSCM field, which primarily relate to dynamic capabilities, digitization, and sustainability in different industries. I have a passion for the developments in the retailing industry, especially, omni-channel and e-commerce. 

In my research, I have applied various methods including qualitative case studies, however, I am mostly interested in large-scale studies and statistical analyses of survey data. I have been involved in several research projects including:

Teaching

Upon joining JTH, I acted as the  Program Manager to develop the first international bachelor’s program at the School of Engineering; namely, Industrial Engineering and Management – Sustainable Supply Chain Management

Since 2009, I have been involved in developing courses and teaching, and supervising theses at undergraduate and graduate levels, including courses on:

  • Retailing 
  • Sustainability and Social Responsibility in Supply Chains
  • Logistics and Supply Chain Management 
  • Marketing Management and Industrial Marketing 

My courses have constantly received high evaluations from the students, for which I was awarded the pedagogical prize for the Lecturer of the Year in 2011 at JIBS and at the School of Engineering in 2017/2018.
