MMTC seminar with Chetna Chauhan (Universidad de Los Andes, Colombia) and Sher Jahan Khan (FORE School of Management, India).

Chetna is presenting the research titled as "Investigating the algorithmic transparency within organizations through upper echelons perspective".

Drawing on Upper Echelons Theory, this study examines how top management team (TMT) characteristics shape firms’ adoption of algorithmic transparency and service ethics in competitive contexts. Using a Bayesian hierarchical modeling approach, we analyze survey data collected through validated instruments, complemented by firm-level variables such as CEO founder status, CEO IT background, CEO gender, and Chief Information Officer in Top Management Team. The Bayesian framework allows us to capture the inherent noise in Likert-based responses and incorporate prior information for more robust estimates. The findings highlight the role of executive attributes in driving ethical and transparent algorithmic practices and provide theoretical and managerial insights into how leadership profiles influence firms’ technological and ethical orientations.

The seminar will run in a hybrid format
