Security enhancement measures - Firewall

Starting 16/12, personal computers will be moved to JU's new firewall, this may entail some restrictions. HHJ is first out, then other companies will follow in 2025.

In the spring of 2024, our VPN was moved to the new firewall solution and during the fall, a new set of rules has been established to protect JU's local networks. All student computers have now been moved to the new solution and the next step is staff computers.

The rules in the new firewall are more strict than in the old solution, which may cause limitations. Contact the IT Helpdesk if you have problems with any service.

• Access to internal JU services is managed via rules set by the IT department
• Access from computer to the Internet should not be restricted
• Access from the Internet to the computer (e.g. remote control) is blocked
