The Husqvarna course is an important collaboration between the School of Engineering at Jönköping University and Husqvarna Group. For many students, the course leads to thesis work, summer jobs and in many cases employment at the company.This year, the Husqvarna course turns ten years old, which was celebrated at the School of Engineering on 12 December."It is a very good recruitment base for us," says Pär Martinsson, Senior R&D Director at Husqvarna Group.

Jönköping ranked fourth best student city

This is revealed in the new national report Talent City Index 2025 – Student Special , where the city secures an impressive fourth place when students themselves rate their study location. The results show that Jönköping is highly valued as a place to live and study, thanks to its strong combination of safety, accessibility, and vibrant city life.

Ägarlyftet – New initiative to strengthen local ownership in Jönköping County
A new research-based initiative at Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) at Jönköping University (JU) will provide local business owners with better tools to meet future challenges. The project, known as Ägarlyftet, is led by the research centre CeFEO – Centre for Family Entrepreneurship and Ownership and aims to promote active and long-term ownership in Jönköping County.

JU students spread light in Stockholm during Nobel Week
Ten lighting design students at the School of Engineering (JTH) at Jönköping University light up the "Stallkanalen" in central Stockholm with lights during the Nobel Week Lights, 6-14 December."We are learning som much and gaining valuable knowledge as lighting designers," says student Isabelle Guander.

Matchmaking event makes new research collaborations possible
On 3–4 December, Jönköping University (JU) organized a matchmaking event in collaboration with Science Park and Crowdhelix, focusing on upcoming calls for proposals within Horizon Europe. Over two half-days, researchers and stakeholders from various sectors, primarily academia, gathered to create new collaborations within sustainability, digitalization, and how technology can be developed with people at the center.

Jönköping University's Academic Ceremony with the installation of professors and conferment of doctors was held on November 29. The ceremony is a great and important occasion for researchers to celebrate their academic achievements together with colleagues but also with family and friends. Behind each title there are often very proud family members who have supported and encouraged along the journey. On Saturday, 29 November, Jönköping University (JU) held its Academic Ceremony with the installation of professors and the conferral of doctoral degrees at Kulturhuset Spira.“For a researcher, there are few days that mean as much as the Academic Ceremony. Here, after many years of hard work, you receive your doctoral hat – visible proof that you have completed your doctoral education and contributed new knowledge to the world,” says Måns Svensson, President at JU.

JU researchers participated at major award ceremony
Frida Lygnegård, School of Health Welfare, and Lilly Augustine, School of Education and Communication, at Jönköping University (JU), participated in the International Children's Peace Prize, one of the world's most respected children's and youth awards. The ceremony was held at Stockholm City Hall, and this year's speakers included members of the royal family and Nobel Prize winners.
