Stylish elegance at this year's Spring Inspiration
Over 300 people gathered to enjoy Scandinavia's largest student-run fashion show which took place on 12 April at Science Park. The event was organized by students from Jönköping International Business School's (JIBS) student association and also involved students from the other schools at Jönköping University (JU).“It has been so much fun to work with Spring Inspiration. I would really recommend others to get involved in the project,” says Jasmin Obed, one of the project managers of the event.

Collaboration for the future at the SPARK conference
On 10 April, the annual SPARK conference was held at the School of Engineering (JTH) at Jönköping University (JU). The SPARK conference is a meeting place for industry, academia and public actors where JTH presents research results on how the research and education environment SPARK strengthens the country's manufacturing industry.
“I think this day is proof of what it means for a region with a strong university that is good at collaborating,” says Linda Assbring, Head of Programme and Analysis at the Knowledge Foundation.

JU Solar Team goes for gold with their new solar car
Twice as many solar panels and half as big battery. These are some of the new features of JU Solar Team's new solar car, which was unveiled in front of about 300 people at the School of Engineering (JTH) at Jönköping University (JU) on 10 April.The team aim for a top position in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge in Australia, 24-31 August."We have a better solar car than ever before and hope to reach first place of course," says Matilda Svensson Duric, Team Manager.

They exhibit at the world's largest furniture fair
The School of Engineering (JTH) at Jönköping University (JU) is the only Swedish school participating in the youth salon of the world's largest furniture fair, "Salone Internazionale del Mobile" in Milan, April 8-13."It is exciting to exhibit at such a big fair and we are grateful for this opportunity", says JTH student Rebecka Martin.

High school students in “FEST-ive” final at Jönköping University
For the first time, the Family Entrepreneurship Schools Tournament (FEST) was organized at Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) at Jönköping University (JU).“The aim of the competition is to help high school students in Jönköping to develop skills and see family businesses as attractive employers,” says Joaquín Cestino Castilla, Assistant Professor of Business Administration at JIBS and one of the project leaders of the competition.

Reducing food waste with AI - winning idea in 24-hour competition
Reducing food waste with AI was the winning concept at this year's JIBS Entrepreneurship Challenge, held on 2 April.During 24 intense hours, student teams from Jönköping University tackled a real business case from this year's partner, the food wholesaler Mårdskog and Lindkvist.“The students are very creative and it’s clear that they are good at what they do,” says Marcus Mårdskog, co-owner of Mårdskog and Lindkvist.

JU researcher nominated for “Most promising over 60” award
Hans Westlund, Professor of Entrepreneurship at Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) at Jönköping University (JU) and the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) is nominated for his research on regional development and innovation.“It is very nice to be nominated as ‘promising’ when it’s thought that people my age should be retired. It is also an accurate description of how I feel. I have a lot left to give," says Hans Westlund.

New board game promotes children's oral health
Staff at the School of Health and Welfare (HHJ) at Jönköping University, together with game development students from the University of Skövde, have started an interdisciplinary collaboration project to develop a board game that will teach children about their diet and cavities. The goal is to eventually investigate the educational effect of the game for children through a research project.
