Times Higher Education ranks the world’s top universities that are 50 years old or younger. The universities are judged across all core missions – teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook – to provide a more comprehensive and balanced comparison. Jönköping University is included for the second time. In the 2023 ranking, JU placed within the range of 201-250, and has this year climbed to 168. The total number of universities in the ranking has increased from 605 to 673 during the same period.

"I'm happy that Jönköping University has climbed in the rankings. Rankings should always be interpreted with some caution, but they provide guidance on how we stand compared to other institutions. Internationalization is part of our strategic efforts, and the ranking indicates that our continuous endeavors have been fruitful," says Tomas Björk, head of planning department, Jönköping University.

Jönköping University is characterized by its high degree of internationalization, entrepreneurship, and collaboration with surrounding society. The university has over 350 partner universities, all around the world, and numerous international collaborations within research and education. Among other things, Jönköping University is a European University together with our partners in the EULiST alliance (European Universities Linking Society and Technology).
