New exam opportunity at the School of Health and Welfare after an incident

On 14 April, an exam was held for nursing students at the School of Health and Welfare. However, an incident occurred during the exam and the exam has been annulled for legal reasons. The new examination will be held on Tuesday 10 May.

This meant that during the exam students had the opportunity to go back and forth in the exam, retrieve correct answers and then adjust previous answers. This would not be possible and the exam has therefore been declared invalid. A new examination will be held on Tuesday 10 May.

"We understand that students are upset by what has happened and we regret what has occurred. The exam has been cancelled to protect legal and patient safety. We need to be able to ensure that our students have sufficient knowledge of nursing before they enter the workforce," says Agneta Stenebrand, Associate Dean of Education at the School of Health and Welfare.

After the incident, the School of Health and Welfare convened a meeting with the students concerned to answer questions and talk about the incident. Around 70 students attended the meeting.

After the meeting, the decision was made to adjust the date of the new exam. In addition to the new exam date of 10 May, there will also be a re-exam date on Saturday 21 May.

Jönköping University is now reviewing its procedures to ensure that this does not happen again.
