Time for Pride in Jönköping

On 23–29 August, Pride (QomUt) is celebrated in Jönköping and the rainbow flag is hoisted all over the city. This year's Pride will be a little different and it ends with a digital parade on Saturday 28 August.

JU’s student associations Equal Opportunity Committee and Students for Sustainable Action both work for increased knowledge with regards to these issues as well as increased diversity on campus. Students from JU have a tradition of joining the parade via these student associations and also staff usually join. As last year, this year's parade will be digital and can be seen via the website.

“Equal opportunity and equality for all are two basic values that are just as important in the lecture halls as in the research world. Jönköping University works actively for diversity and tolerance as part of our strategic work, among other things as members of SAR (Scholars at Risk). The rainbow flag is hoisted on campus to encourage everyone to be proud of who they are, and I am proud that our students and staff make Jönköping University a place for everyone,” says President Agneta Marell.
