Luis Cabrera and Luis Cano from Mexico who graduated from Jönköping International Business School last week will present their own product at Google's premises during Almedal Week.

- We are really looking forward to this, says Luis Carbrera.

Luis Cabrera, 21, and Luis Cano, 22, come from Jönköping Universitys partner university, ITESM Campus Ciudad de México. They accepted as college students and have studied courses in business administration at Jönköping International Business School. In May, they won one of seven categories at the Hack for Sweden competition during Sweden Innovation Week. There were 500 competitors and Luis and Luis won the Mobility category.

- It was really fun and the victory has opened up many doors for us, says Luis Carbrera.

Conserts or roller coaster

The two guys from Mexico have developed a software product which with a VR solution (Virtual Reality) allows people who are physically at one place in the world to take part in lessons, concerts or maybe a roller coaster in a different part of the world.

- Now we have a platform that allows people to see events in 360 degrees, both recorded material as rides on an amusement park and things that happen in real time like a concert, says Luis Cano.

They are focusing on, but not limited to, people with disabilities. For example, Justin Bieber has 113 million followers on Instagram, but “only” 9 million people could see him live during his latest world tour. Luis and Luis product can serve as a solution for everyone who didn´t get a ticket to his concerts. They are confident that with their product you will not only see an event but experience it.

In addition to 30,000 SEK in prize money, Luis and Luis will present their product during the Almedal Week.

- We need to meet investors, programmers and partners to be able to take our product further, says Luis Carbrera.

They want to start a business in Jönköping

They have plans to start a business in Sweden, preferably in Jönköping, but if that doesn´t work out they will return to Mexico. They´ve enjoyed living in Jönköping and studying at Jönköping International Business School.

- I really love Sweden and Jönköping. I don't like saying this, but it's not as safe in Mexico as it is here. When you are here you can walk the streets in the middle of the night knowing that nothing bad will come to you and that´s a good feeling, says Luis Carbrera.

Both were surprised by how much there were to do for students after school hours at Jönköping University and how involved and inviting the students were.- There is more life after school here than in Mexico.

- There you use the afternoons and evenings to study, but here you do things together with other students, says Luis Cano.

"Don´t want to be rude"

One thing they have missed with Mexico is the food and perhaps especially one dish.

- I don't want to be rude, but you don't have tacos here, says Luis Carbrera and smiles.

He explains that tacos in Mexico is a concept, like pizza. There are tacos with different kinds of meat, fish, chicken, cheese and more.

- I love the tacos with minced meat that you eat here too, but it´s a big difference.

Agneta Marell, Rector of Jönköping University, is impressed by how Luis Cabrera and Luis Cano have used technology and innovation to create a product that provides new opportunities for people who for various reasons cannot travel.

- They have produced a product that will have a positive impact on society. It is very gratifying that Jönköping University's students have succeeded so well, says Agneta Marell.

She emphasizes that Luis and Luis have an exciting time ahead of them with participation in Almedalen and she wishes them great luck.

Also Monika Pavlovic at the International Office at Jönköping University is pleased with the success of Luis and Luis.

- It's great fun. They have produced something unique and have lots of things going on, she says.
