Travel to and from China
JU has been in contact with the students who have arrived from China in the last days, as well as students expected to arrive within the coming weeks.
JU’s recommendations to students in regards to trips to and from China:
- If you show symptoms of the Corona virus, contact the public healthcare at 1177 immediately.
- After our consultation with the Infection Control Department doctor, we recommend that when you arrive from China you should minimize the number of contacts you have in the coming 14 days. JU will assist you with your studies and with private accommodation as well as providing other support. Contact the crisis phoneline on +46 73-910 15 09.
JU has taken the following measures in conjunction with the Corona virus
The International Office at JU maps students doing their exchange in China. Currently there is one student on an exchange in China, who is located in Hong Kong. We have been in touch with the student and have made sure that the student is well and is well informed about the situation.
The Student Health Care at JU contacts the Infection Control Department at Ryhov Hospital for guidelines on how to best inform students and staff.

The International Office at JU informs students with scheduled exchange studies in China during the spring semester that we may have to look at alternative exchange destinations.
JU is informed about one confirmed case of the Corona virus in Jönköping.
JU’s crisis organisation is activated by the President Agneta Marell. Hanna Ståhl, Dean of University Services, is appointed Operational Crisis Manager and Hanna Vinborg, Head of the Communications Department, is appointed Media Contact. In addition to this, other key functions in the crisis organisation are activated.
A crisis phoneline is activated at the Student Health Care at JU. The purpose of the phoneline is to respond to queries from worried students. The questions are responded to by the Counsellor at JU.

The Student Health Care states that very few phone calls have been received to their crisis phoneline in regards to the Corona virus.
The International Office at JU provides information about which students that have recently arrived in Jönköping from China, or who will arrive within the coming weeks.
The crisis organisation management has a dialogue with the Infection Control Department doctors regarding how to best inform the students expected to arrive or who have recently arrived in Jönköping. These students are informed in person, after recommendations from the Infection Control Department doctors and the Public Health Agency.
The HR department at JU investigate further whether any JU staff are in China or are expected to travel to China in the near future. At present we know that no JU staff has travelled to the destination of the Hubei province since the 17 January, according to the travel agency which JU uses for business trips.
