Registration open for this year’s SPARK conference
The registration is now open for this year’s SPARK conference, which will be organised by Jönköping University (JU) on 22 April. The conference, which has the theme lifelong learning, is held online, is free of charge and open to everyone. One of the main attractions will be the announcement of the SPARK Award.
The SPARK conference is a forum where business, academia and public actors meet to discuss how lifelong learning can strengthen the competitiveness of the region’s manufacturing companies.
“We want to show companies how the lifelong learning and competence development of already employed staff can be developed and offered to them,” says Salem Seifeddine, Program Manager for SPARK and Associate Dean of Research at the School of Engineering, JU.
Agneta Marell, President of JU, Mats Jackson, Executive Vice President of JU and chairman of the steering group for SPARK, will open the conference together with Salem Seifeddine. After that, the leaders of SPARK’s five thematic areas will inform about the possibilities for lifelong learning in research and education.
“When research can be packaged in appropriate educational formats and made available to both companies and our students, the advancement of technology can be quickly implemented and create sustainable solutions,” says Salem Seifeddine.
Furthermore, SPARK’s strategic partners Träcentrum and Campus Värnamo will talk about their activities. There will also be several lectures and a panel discussion on lifelong learning. Salem Seifeddine is looking forward to a fruitful discussion during the conference and a major exchange between the collaborating partners within SPARK. Towards the end of the conference, this year's winner of the SPARK Award will be presented. The prize goes to a research project within SPARK, that have shown evidence of excellent collaboration with their business partners.
