MMTC has initiated a Business Studio project, headed by Professor Daved Barry, a world leading specialist on organizational innovation and creativity.
Professor Barry specializes in how design, the arts, and studio methods can improve leadership, innovation, strategy, identity, organizing, and problem-solving.
Before joining MMTC and JIBS, Daved was Professor of Creative Organization Studies at Copenhagen Business School (CBS, in Denmark) where he co-developed the CBS Studio - originally a 1920’s villa where CBS faculty, students, and industry-government partners used studio methods from design and the arts to address a variety of industry problems and questions. He is currently working on how to apply studio methods to research and education at JIBS and Jönköping University, with a particular focus on studio-based industry-academic project collaborations.
In the long run, we hope to create a physical Business Studio that can function as a place where the academia, industry, and government groups can meet to work on mutually beneficial project engagements. Within the overall business studio initiative, we hope to establish a Digital Business Studio that can be part of the new Digital Business Master’s program.
