Participating municipalities are Gnosjö, Härryda, Vårgårda and Värnamo.
Statistical population: About 2000 youth studied from 12-13 years of age (grade 6 and 7) to legal age of 18 and adulthood (possibly even further) in each municipality per the following plan:
Grade 6 students are followed up in grade 7 and 8 and then again in grade 11 (High School year 2).
Grade 7 students are followed up in grade 8 and 9 and then again in grade 11 (High School year 2).
Data collection in High Schools will be coordinated in four waves. In high school, however, wave 4 will be conducted over two consecutive years.
Data collection is conducted in the schools by the PhD students, except for those students who have moved out of the municipality where the data collection is done either by mail or phone.
At the time of the baseline data collection 2013, in grade 6 and 7, parents were asked to fill out a questionnaire sent out by mail. They were also asked to fill out a supplementary questionnaire sent out during the autumn of 2014.
Each year teachers are asked to evaluate the students’ behavior and achievements at school (a total of four times: grade 6/7, grade 7/8, grade 8/9 and grade 11).
When the students are 17 or 18 years, a sample group will be interviewed for a specific survey on mental health.
During the autumn of 2015 a data collection was conducted with students in year 8/9 in the participating municipalities.
During the spring of 2016 a data collection was conducted with the participating students' teachers.
